Ever been scared of Alexa?

My sister is routinely nervous about our AI system in our living room. We have normally kept it off for family gatherings, but once in awhile Alexa will wake up and scare everyone with a very loud “Sorry, I didn’t quite catch that.”

While she has a problem with Alexa, she doesn’t have a problem switching between the 3-4 remotes we hold onto for the TV, cable, and DVD player.

It’s been much more convenient to connect everything to an Amazon Echo or an Amazon Fire Stick. With the Amazon Fire Stick’s capabilities including Alexa, it helps to minimize all the remotes we situate in the middle of the living room. We routinely pop in movies as a family or binge a show while we have control of the TV on Netflix. From original content to box office hits, Netflix’s content has something for everyone.

It’s also more convenient to speak to a machine to find what you’re interested in compared to sorting through genres and movies vs. shows to make a decision.

Even though an Amazon Fire Stick might be more convenient than scrolling through your Netflix account, watching TV tends to not be high on the list when successful people arrange their downtime. So to combat your lazier tendencies, here are a select few inspirational goal-achieving programs you can watch on Netflix to encourage you to achieve your goals by forming long-lasting habits.

Tidying up with Marie Kondo

If you’re looking for a calm series to watch for a few hours, Tidying up with Marie Kondo is a great binge-worthy Netflix original show.

Tidying up with Marie Kondo only has about 8 episodes for the first season, but will hopefully with more to follow. At about 30-40 minutes per episode, you can binge-watch this Netflix show in an evening while you achieve your own goal of doing your laundry or tidying up your own home.

Each episode goes over the methods Marie Kondo uses to tidy up your living space, outlined in her book, Tidying up with Marie Kondo. No matter if that space is a condo, a house, or an apartment, Marie can see the order in the chaos.

Marie Kondo’s method is what inspires her and her audience members to be successful in achieving their tidy goals. Maire doesn’t just help you clean, she helps you make habits that set you on a path to feeling and being less cluttered. It’s not only important to clean out your space but to maintain the gratitude and orderliness that Marie promotes.

Each episode looks into specific aspects of Marie’s method. They do go through the whole process, but they also pick which process is most impactful towards the family being recorded.

Taking Sexy Back

This Australian-based show is focused on transforming the lives of singles and couples to become more fitness and health-oriented.

Each contestant is put against themselves to become a healthier version of themselves over a few weeks to a few months. They continue to live their same lives and are in the same environment, yet they are given tips to achieve their goals by a personal trainer, health coach, and stylist.

Taking Sexy Back is only one season with 8 episodes; each focused on a single or pair of contestants. Each episode is about an hour but, pair each episode with a workout, and you should make it through fairly quickly.

While there are downfalls in each contestant’s episode, each person shows how to achieve your goals despite the circumstances.

Each contestant sticks with an inspirational, goal-achieving why that is heavily enforced throughout Taking Sexy Back. Whether it’s to be healthier for their kids or to lose weight for their wedding or vow renewal, each contestant(s) holds fast to their particular why’s along with support from family and friends during each episode of Taking Sexy Back.

My favorite part of Taking Sexy Back is the emphasis on habits to achieve their goals rather than the goal itself. While Taking Sexy Back is focused on an end goal and goal-driven deadline, the Netflix show starts with setting up habits that will help each contestant to succeed.

Amazon Fire Stick Recommendation: Alexa, show weight-loss shows on Netflix.

The Worlds Most Extraordinary Homes

Extraordinary Homes is a bit different than our other inspiring, goal-achieving Netflix shows. Extraordinary Homes showcases different homes around the world that are architectural wonders. Not only are these homes unique, but their interiors are also coveted by many local and international architects.

If you want to achieve a goal of creating a once in a lifetime type of home, take a look at some of these masterpieces.

Each episode of Extraordinary Homes, about 45 minutes, shows 3 houses in a particular region of the world. Over 3 seasons, Extraordinary Homes has an architect and property enthusiast actor view and critique each house and interviews owners about each property.

Similar to Mortgage FreeExtraordinary Homes showcases many creative ideas to create a home. Some of the houses are built out of airplane wings, inlaid homes within the terrain, and forces built to stand against nature. Each home focuses on the environment it’s built within to blend in with its surroundings as well as stand against weather and nature’s ailments.

While none of these homes are budget-friendly, they are a sight to behold. If you are looking to make a new home with alternative methods, take a peek at these homes for their unique ideas.

Amazon Fire Stick Recommendation: Alexa, show extreme architecture shows on Netflix.
